Annabelle Santos Volgman, MD

Annabelle Santos Volgman, MD, is the co-founder of the Rush Heart Center for Women and served as its medical director for 20 years. She is the McMullan-Eybel Professor of Excellence in Clinical Cardiology at Rush, the Chief of Research and Academic Affairs in the Division of Cardiology, and a nationally recognized leader in cardiology care and research.

Volgman has received numerous awards from Rush University, the American Heart Association (AHA), WomenHeart, and other national organizations. Since the beginning of the AHA’s Go Red for Women campaign, Volgman has been a prominent campaign leader. In 2024, she and the Rush Heart Center for Women are being honored by the AHA at the 20th anniversary of the Go Red for Women movement.
