CME ACCREDITATION AND DESIGNATION

OVERVIEW

Newly expanded indications for TAVR and continually increasing utilization of this interventional therapy have presented new challenges for cath labs and heart teams around the world. This brief panel discussion touches upon expert-recommended approaches to such challenges—high case volume, patient education, and care coordination—as well as other considerations for achieving excellence in heart-team performance and patient outcomes in TAVR.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

1) Describe principal TAVR-related challenges in 2019 and beyond

2) Define considerations for effective coordination with heart team members.

3) Identify strategies for effectively managing patient flow & responding to increased case volume


TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is designed for interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, clinical cardiologists, vascular medicine specialists, and other healthcare professionals.


ACTIVITY EVALUATION

Evaluation by questionnaire will address content, presentation, possible bias, and future educational needs.
