CME ACCREDITATION AND DESIGNATION

CME for MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.0 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.

OVERVIEW

Recently, transcatheter therapies have emerged as a viable alternative to surgical valve replacement. Advancements in these therapies have led to the innovation of transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR). As more and more heart teams look to include TMVR as part of their practice, discussion and understanding of the latest in structural valve treatments are critical to success. This program covers TMVR clinical trial design, appropriate patient selection and screening, and optimal care. This educational activity is designed for interventional cardiologists, clinical cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals involved
in the management of patients with valvular heart disease.

ACTIVITY EVALUATION

Evaluation by questionnaire will address content, presentation effectiveness, possible bias, and future educational needs.
