Amit K. Gupta, MBBS, MD is currently enrolled in an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center (San Antonio, TX). A graduate of UCMS (Delhi, India), Gupta trained in medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX) and cardiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine (Jacksonville, FL). Inspired to pursue a career in cardiology by his experience with cardiac valvular disease in a close relative, he has long-term career goals of becoming a highly-skilled, safe, and efficient operator in coronary and structural interventions. Gupta has published multiple papers on hemodynamics, post infarct remodeling, and valvular disease in peer-reviewed journals, and was also part of the Florida state team that made it to the final round of Jeopardy at the 2017 American College of Cardiology Scientific Session. Gupta enjoys blogging for TCTMD’s Fellows Forum as it “is a great way to give voice to issues which are not discussed during peer-reviewed literature.” Outside of the cath lab, he has a passion for cowboy boots, photography, and driving exotic cars.
